Resonate Hearing Centre is led by its dedicated owner, Dr Sheetal Athalye, a highly experienced professional in the field of audiology. Dr Athalye began her career in Audiology in UK in 2005 while studying for PhD in Audiology at Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton. Following this, she worked in the NHS to gain significant clinical experience and then moved on to a mixed role of research and clinical work in third sector. This then led her to manage a private Audiology business for over five years before deciding to open her own practice. Her list of research publications is found on the link below.
Her doctoral research was on understanding the factors affecting speech recognition in noise for adults across a range of hearing losses, such as in parties and during group conversations. During her time in the NHS, she reviewed different hearing aids and the factors that affect their suitability to different individuals. Her clinical and research experience contributes to her being able to have a holistic view of hearing health care and the journey of people with hearing loss. She is registered with HCPC (The Health and Care Professionals Council) and BSHAA (The British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists). Her passion for helping individuals improve their quality of life through better hearing is evident in her personalised approach to care.
Dr Athalye takes time to listen to her clients, understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions. She is committed to reducing the negative impact of hearing loss with right hearing care and advanced hearing technology available today.
Prior to coming to UK, she gained her Bachelors and Masters in Audiology and Speech-Language therapy from India. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
